  SOME DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE USA AND ECUADOR 1. WATCH THE VIDEO AND TELL ME WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY COMPETITION? 2. READ THE TEXT AND IDENTIFY SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN USA AND ECUADOR. When you see a typical American teen movie, competitions are often involved. Actually, idioms like, “Go big or go home!” or “Give it your all!” reflect the way people in the United States perceive what being competitive means. This includes many parts of life: Sports, school, work, even video games. Teens in Ecuador may be competitive as well, but usually they don’t take it too seriously because it’s just for fun. They can enjoy sports, school, or video games and appreciate healthy competition. The emphasis is more on having fun in the process, and not who wins or loses…, except maybe in soccer! 3.
